Avril Lavigne plagiarism suit settled out of court

Hey, hey/ you, you/ what ya gonna do/ we're gonna sue you!

Canadian pop star Avril Lavigne has reached a settlement in a lawsuit accusing her of plagiarizing her hit song "Girlfriend."
The 23-year-old was sued by 1970s rock band the Rubinoos, who claimed her 2007 hit single sounded similar to their song "I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend" which was released in 1979.
You can hear it for yourself. Check out the video below...it really hammers home the band's allegations. It also compares the similarity of "Girlfriend" to the hit 1980s song "Mickey" by Toni Basil. And the commentary in the captions is pretty funny as well.
