John McCain made a good call by choosing Sarah Palin as his vice presidential running mate. After the disappointment of Democrat Hillary Clinton's presidential bid, a woman is back in the race for the White House.
The Alaskan governor is sure to be the star of the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota. She's the first female vice presidential candidate of the Republican Party and only the second female vice presidential candidate representing a major political party. She will also be the first politician from Alaska to run on a national ticket for president or vice president.
