Which one of these women do you want your news from?

Well, the good news is there's no right or wrong answer. They're all beautiful in their own right.
Let's face it, television is a very visual medium. It pays to look good. It's sad but true...even if you are a thorough, well-rounded journalist, it doesn't mean a thing unless you have some looks to back it up. Just flip through any news shows and you'll see a parade of bleach blonde babes and sultry senoritas, each one more gorgeous than the last. You don't need to be fluent in Spanish to appreciate the beauties frequently on Univision.
With all that said, Univision senior reporter Myriam Ayala may have a good case here. At first glance, many bloggers are quick to fire off that the reporter is just sour over better looking women leap-frogging over her. There may be more beneath the surface with this. Many of these bloggers probably didn't bother to read the full document (which is available at TMZ). It's easy for people to point and laugh at something like this, and it's easy to say this is a silly lawsuit...but would you laugh if this happened to you? Based on the allegations her attorneys are bringing forward, it sounds like Ayala's been discriminated against.
There's more to this than meets the eye. It can't be summed up in a short soundbite or a quick blog post.
This is really a classic television news dilemma. Do you go for the beauty with no brains or do you go for the true journalist, who may not compete in the looks department. Maybe it doesn't have to be one way or the other. A good mix of the two would do just fine...and the cream rises to the top.
